Rural Organizations

Several rural organizations are committed to the strategic priorities of northern development, community economic development, healthy children, sustainable development, clean water, aboriginal development and civil service renewal.

Agriculture in the Classroom Manitoba Inc. provides many ideas, tools and resources for teaching agricultural awareness in schools.

Direct Farm Manitoba is a co-operative of producers who promote the development and benefits of farmers' markets for vendors and consumers.

Manitoba Farm Women's Conference is a volunteer organization that presents an annual conference aimed at expanding knowledge and sharing ideas in an enjoyable setting.

Manitoba Women's Institute is a rural organization dedicated to personal development, family, agriculture, rural development and community action, locally and globally.

Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame honours deserving individuals who have made a significant contribution to agriculture and their community. Nominations are welcomed.

Manitoba Agricultural Museum houses Canada's largest collection of operating vintage farm machinery, including more than 500 implements and a pioneer village with more than 20 buildings.


Manitoba Agricultural Societies - encourage improvement in agriculture, food production and rural living; provide leadership in sustaining the social structure of rural communities, and provide programs, services and facilities based on needs in rural communities.

Manitoba Association of Agricultural Societies is a provincial board representing 57 Agricultural Societies in Manitoba and lists dates and locations of Manitoba fairs, festivals and exhibitions and provides a copy of judging standards. Click here for fair dates.
