Indigenous Jurisdiction Transition Office

About Us

The Indigenous Jurisdiction Transition Office supports Indigenous Governments on their path to exercising their inherent jurisdiction over the welfare of their children. This branch represents the Government of Manitoba in trilateral coordination agreements with Indigenous governments and the Federal Government. These agreements coordinate funding and delivery of child and family services to Indigenous children and their families. The branch also supports the implementation of provincial child and family services system adaptation and works with other provincial departments and partners to support the implementation of Indigenous laws from a whole-of-government approach.
