Manitoba’s Path to Net Zero is a bold strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, strengthen communities, and build a resilient, low-carbon economy that benefits all Manitobans.
The plan outlines Manitoba’s path to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, and prioritizes key actions to achieve this goal:
- Government leadership towards net-zero, including a new Climate Change Committee of Cabinet and strengthening provincial climate change legislation.
- Collaborating with Indigenous Nations on renewable energy and net-zero initiatives.
- Creating good jobs in the low-carbon economy, including for the next generation of workers.
- Working with all sectors to support Manitoba’s net-zero economic plan.
- Working with the Federal government to support a feasibility study on a National Marine Conservation Area in western Hudson Bay to balance nature, culture, and economic opportunities.
