Auditor General’s Report
The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) of Manitoba received several complaints regarding the Protection for Persons in Care Office’s administration of The Protection for Persons in Care Act. In response to those complaints, the OAG launched an investigation and found serious systemic issues were jeopardizing the PPCO’s ability to produce meaningful investigation results to help protect vulnerable Manitobans in care.

The province announced the formation of a working group tasked with implementing the recommendations from Justice William Burnett’s report on strengthening protection for people in care.
