Casual Aircraft Hiring

The Manitoba Wildfire Service casually hires both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft to respond to provincial forest fire activity. Companies that are interested in providing these services are required to complete and submit a standing offer that provides their rate and hire information in advance of the fire season.

Aircraft duties may include fire detection, transport of fire personnel or equipment, aerial firefighting and other related fire suppression activities or flying for the Manitoba government.  

The 2024 helicopter flying offer requirements, instructions and deadlines can be found here: 2024 Helicopter Cover Letter & Flying Offer. Helicopter duties may include transport of fire personnel and equipment, bucket operations, slinging, loaded patrols, infrared-red scanning and other related fire suppression activities or flying for the Manitoba government.

Heavy equipment duties may include building fireguards, land reclamation, transport of fire personnel, transport of equipment, water supply and other related fire suppression activities or for the Manitoba government.
