Indigenous Services Branch (ISB)

Vision

To make sure all Indigenous employees in Manitoba Justice feel safe. They should feel respected, valued and represented.

Mission

ISB works with all divisions within Manitoba Justice. It partners with First Nation, Métis and Inuit leaders and community groups. This ensures Manitoba Justice programs and services include Indigenous views and voices.

Focus

Provide wellness services to Manitoba Justice staff, their families and the community. Use Indigenous spiritual care providers for support.
Increase Indigenous representation in Manitoba Justice through recruitment, retention, professional development and mentorship.
Create safer spaces by improving cultural understanding. Provide Indigenous education and awareness training for Manitoba Justice staff.
