NOTICE: Postal Disruption Update – Return to Regular Mail Delivery

As Canada Post workers have shifted to rotating strikes, the Department of Families will return to pre-postal strike mail delivery of all benefits via Canada Post. 

Effective November 6, 2025: 

Manitoba Supports for Persons with Disabilities (MSPD) – All benefit cheques mailed.        

Employment and Income Assistance (EIA) – All benefit cheques mailed.        

All vendor, landlord, service provider and income supplement program recipient cheques, including Rent Assist, 55 PLUS, Manitoba Prenatal Benefit, and Manitoba Child Benefit, are mailed via Canada Post, effective October 21, 2025.

Request and Justification Forms

The Disability and Health Supports Unit (DHSU) follows current partner program policies and legislation to determine eligibility for medical supply/equipment and diet requests. All requests must be completed by a health professional using the following forms:

Health professionals that may complete the forms are:
  • physicians,
  • registered dieticians,
  • registered physician assistants,
  • registered nurse practitioners,
  • licensed practical nurses,
  • registered nurses,
  • registered midwives,
  • occupational therapists,
  • physical therapists,
  • respiratory therapists, and
  • speech language therapists.
