Administration & Finance - Divisional
The Administration and Finance Division provides centralized financial, administrative and information technology support services to the department. This is accomplished through the Division’s three branches:
The branches are responsible for:
- Maintaining an active comptrollership and administrative support function by ensuring that financial and administrative policies, services and reporting systems are developed and administered effectively
- Providing technical expertise in the development and maintenance of computer systems in support of departmental programs and services
- Improving the Department’s accountability framework
- Managing French Language Services for the Department and for a number of outside agencies that deliver services on the Department's behalf (click here for more information on the government's French language services policy)
- Coordinating the Department's responses to requests for access to information under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) gives Manitobans and others the right to access records of public bodies, including Family Services. It also provides for the protection of personal information held by the Department and other public bodies. As a result, requests for information are subject to certain restrictions as outlined in FIPPA.
