Rapid Tests - K-6 Students

BTNX Rapid ResponseTM COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test

Beginning this winter break, the Government of Manitoba is providing free, rapid antigen tests to students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 across Manitoba, including First Nations communities. While students aged 5-11 can receive a COVID-19 vaccine, they will not be fully immunized before the return to school. Parents and caregivers  will have the opportunity to request a testing kit at no cost to families.

While testing is completely voluntary, it’s encouraged for children who show no signs or symptoms of COVID-19. If your child has any signs or symptoms related to COVID-19, please use the COVID-19 Screening Tool and visit a designated testing location if required.

How it works:

  • Kits will be distributed to all school divisions, independent schools and First Nations communities
  • School divisions and schools will handle parent communications and kit distribution
  • A child volunteering to participate will receive one kit, which contains five tests
  • Instructions on how to perform the test will be supplied by the division or school, and are included below.
  • Tests can be administered  as soon as the student receives a kit.
