There were three new fires reported over the past 24 hours, all in the Northeast region. The Brochet Fire #125 near the community of Brochet is still being monitored. Goldsand Fire #77, 15 kms northwest of Lynn Lake, is currently listed as Out of Control at 5000 ha. Three crews continue to work on existing control lines.

Above normal temperatures along with an incoming cold front is expected to raise Fire Danger Levels to extreme in the northwest part of the province, mainly in the Lynn Lake / Leaf Rapids area.

Of the 257 fires to date, 115 were caused by lightning and 142 were human caused.
