University and College Class Orientations

Orientation sessions are available upon request for groups and classes that will be using records from our holdings for a project or assignment. In collaboration with the class instructor, an orientation can be customized to complement the project or course. Orientations introduce the class to our records as well as the reference tools, policies and procedures related to doing archival research at the Archives of Manitoba.

  • Requests must be received at least 10 business days before the proposed date.
  • Our ability to conduct the orientation is dependent on staff availability.
  • Orientations are limited to groups between 5-30 participants.
  • To request an orientation, please call (204) 945-3971 or email archives@gov.mb.ca and your request will be forwarded to the program coordinator.

School Class Tours

Tours for school classes introduce students to the rich documentary heritage held by the Archives of Manitoba and provide an overview of our Research Room operations, our current exhibition(s) and the Hudson’s Bay Company Archives display Vault.
